When I first heard about the 'leather effect' colour tattoos that Maybelline were releasing, I wasn't quite sure what to expect. In my opinion, I can't see them differ too much from the originals in terms of texture or appearance. I feel like they show more lines of your skin, as you'd expect to see in leather, but the original formula shows them slightly too. So the fact that they are 'leather effect' doesn't really make a difference for me and I only picked one up because of the colour. The colour of this is Creamy Beige and is what I would call the 'perfect eyeshadow base' colour - simply because it's so similar to skin colour. As I did with the original formula, I love the creamyness and general feel of the product and I think the packaging is so luxurious for such a small price! These are apparently dupes for the Mac paintpots but as I don't own any I can't do a comparison. I've been using these as bases for the past few weeks and I have to say I love it. It's just so easy to use and really does make your eyeshadow last a hell of a lot longer. You can buy these in Boots or Superdrug, some supermarkets too even and they retail for £4.99
