I started off this post as a normal 'November beauty wishlist' and as I got to the third item, I realised all were palettes. So I thought why not change things up a little and show you the palettes that I am currently eyeing up!
I have been dying to go to Dishoom for almost a year now! It's somewhere my friends and I have had always had on our to-do list but never got round to do it, until last month. We decided to go on a weekday with the hope of it not being too busy.
As we're well into the swing of autumn, I thought I'd share
with you my favourite blushes to wear in autumn. Because my foundation tends to be medium-full coverage, I like to add a little life back into my
makeup with blush. I find in the colder months it gives a nice flushed finish
and doesn't leave me looking bland! So here are the blushes I typically reach
to at this time of year.
Moisturising
I have always hated moisturising my body, I find it such a chore and I can't stand the feeling of any kind of cream on my body - particularly in summer. But my skin can often feel dry and unloved and I know that moisturising does actually do my body wonders. The greatest tip I have for including moisturising in your routine is to keep the products you want to use in your bathroom, preferably next to your shower products. I've put my Soap & Glory body cream right next to my Shower Gel so that as soon as I've finished in the shower and have patted myself dry, I apply the cream straight away - otherwise I would run off into my bedroom feeling super cold and get straight into some clothes without thinking twice about moisturising. I tend to have my showers at night which means once I have moisturised and done my whole body skincare I can go straight to sleep and in the morning, my body feels nice and soft without having that fresh sticky feeling - which I hate!
Overnight Treatments
I find that the best time to do a treatment is when you are asleep, you don't have to think about it and it's probably the longest time you'll have something on. My favourite is something as simple as a lip treatment - I find it so irritating when I have something on my lips, I tend to rub/lick my lips more often than if I had nothing on. So at night just before I get into bed, I like to put a good moisturising balm on and that way I'm not tempted to rub it off before it has a chance to work. I sometimes find in the mornings I can still feel the product on my lips! I also like to use foot creams at night, although it feels uncomfortable at first and actually I do this more in the summer when it's warmer because I find creams really make my feet cold in the winter - I like this because when I wake up in the morning the product is absorbed into my skin and they feel silky soft.
Putting your products on show
I know this sounds silly, but kind of like the first tip, I find that if I can see the products I'm more likely to use them. I like to have all the products I need to use in one area that I no doubt will see everyday. This way when I see it I am most likely to remember to use it. It's a simple tip but you'd be surprised at how much it works!
Cleansing oils
Have you ever come home from a late night after having a few drinks and the only thing you want to do is jump into bed and catch some shut eye?! This has happened to me way too often (even when I get home at 6!). We hear time and time again about how bad it is to sleep with your makeup, but removing it at night can be such a chore! I always say to myself 'one night won't harm me' and then instantly regret it when I have 2 new breakouts, panda eyes and mascara stains on my white linen pillows - great! So I've started to keep a cleansing oil in my bathroom, next to my toothbrush (again putting the products on show) and use this to quickly remove all my makeup. These work well with even the toughest products like waterproof mascara and it's really quick to do too. I know it's not the best method as it's not a deep cleanse, but it's good enough for me! My favourite is The Body Shop Camomile Silky Cleansing Oil.
Brushing your lips
Yes, you read that right! Lately I have noticed that my lips are constantly getting dry, I'm pretty sure it's mainly because of the weather but I tend to bite my lips a lot when I'm feeling fidgety and that doesn't help. No matter how much lip balm I use I can't get them back to being super soft. So I use an old trick that my friend told me about and after I've done brushing my teeth, I wash the brush and gently brush over my lips. Not too hard because it can feel quite uncomfortable but just enough that it lightly exfoliates your lips. This has a similar effect to using a lip scrub but without that extra hassle and it pretty much takes a matter of seconds to do!
Do you have tips to add?

It's that time of the year again where every brand is producing amazing gift sets for the Christmas season and like many of you, I have my eye on a few that are heading on my wishlist. This week I wanted to share with you Beauty Bay's amazing new collection. They have introduced 13 new beauty bags that are pre packed full of goodies. Each bag has a variety of makeup that is great to give as gifts or even buy for yourself! All the sets come with a cute makeup pouch and an instruction card that gives some tips and tricks on how to use the goodies inside!
Having a night time skincare routine is probably the thing I'm the most laziest about. But recently I've been trying to stick to a strict routine and I've really noticed a big difference. I try to keep it simple so that I don't dread it every evening. I don't like to apply too many products overnight as I do want my skin to breathe, but here is my updated night time skincare routine.
Of course removing makeup is the most important step. As controversial as it is to do this in the beauty world, I find using makeup wipes is the quickest and easiest way to remove my makeup. I use Simple wipes, which I will be doing a comparison post of soon! They remove makeup really well and don't feel too harsh on my skin. I remove my face makeup first and then my eye-makeup last so that I don't end up rubbing that all around my face. I used to use micellar waters to remove my eye makeup but actually the makeup wipes work just as well, if not better!
I never like to just use makeup wipes becasue as handy as they are they don't give you a really deep cleanse. So I like to use a gentle scrub to make sure any remainders of makeup and oils are removed. My favourite at the moment is the Body Shop Micro scrub. This scrub exfoliates your skin well but is gentle enough to use daily. It's also the first scrub that doesn't break me out.
An additional step is the No7 Cleansing Brush. I don't do this everyday but I try to use it at least once a week. I wet my face and use a gel-like cleanser to apply all over my face. I'm using the Nip+Fab Glycolic cleanser at the moment and I find it works really well! Another favourite of mine is the Clinique Mild. Anything that will foam works well, but gel based formulas are often the best. I then use the cleansing brush at the lowest speed and cleanse my face in circular motions for roughly 1 minute. After that I wash off all the residue. Make sure you remove all your makeup prior to using this brush or you will find you get more breakouts.
After I've cleansed my face, the last thing I want to do is slap on loads of products! I like to let me skin breathe and often I will not apply anything else to my skin. However, there are two products I like to use when my skin feels like it needs that extra hydration. Firstly the Hylamide Serum (I've got a separate review on this here) is a light product that works really well at adding some hydration back into your skin. I also like to apply an eye cream, at the moment I'm using the Botanics Triple Age Renewal Eye Serum. This is quite a thick cream but it's nice as almost an eye mask at night time.
It sounds like a lot of steps but actually this is a really quick process and once you get in the routine of it, it becomes second nature.

Neelam

For the past few months I have been using the NYX Liquid Suede lipstick almost every day! It's my current favourite lipstick of the season and for so many good reasons!
