Foundation Collection + Mini Review

Finding the right foundation is a hard task and one that I absolutely hate. It's almost an impossible task for me to get a good match. I tan so easily that in the summer it's almost guaranteed that my foundation doesn't match. But over the years, I've tried a few foundations that I can rely on. I have combination skin, with normal skin on my cheeks and an oily t-zone.

This is quite easily my favourite foundation. It's the one that I've used the most over the past year and for good reason too. This gives me a medium to full coverage depending how much I apply. I find this lasts well throughout the day and with the right primer and setting spray it pretty much doesn't budge. Like  most foundations, at the end of the day, it wears off around my nose area as I find this is the oiliest part of my face. But in general, it's not too noticeable. I love the packaging of this, however I find mine gets quite messy around the pump. This foundation does give a semi-matte finish and I find it's easy to blend if you add a good amount on. If you're using small pumps then I sometimes feel like I'm dragging the brush against my skin to get it to blend well.

MAKEUP FOREVER ULTRA HD STICK FOUNDATION - Y405
I've never really used a stick foundation before so I can't give you a good comparison against others in the market. However, as a foundation in general, this gives me a really good coverage. It's easier to use than I expected and I don't find it hard to blend. This is one that I've tried the least out of the others mainly because it's quite a new one in my collection. But so far, I do find that it lasts well throughout the day. I've not tried blending it with a beauty sponge but I can't imagine it to be easy. I find just one swipe of this can cover quite a lot of surface area and so I do think it will last me a long time.

This is probably my least favourite of all the foundations mentioned in this post. Mainly because I like my foundations to give me good coverage and this is definitely a sheer, everyday foundation. My pigmentation and blemishes still show through with this foundation, but when my skin is clear and I just want something light to give a slightly more polished finish, this foundation is the one I go to. It's a watery consistency  and easy to work with but I personally find it's not a very build-able foundation.

They have since changed the packaging of the True Match foundation (this is definitely expired..) but as far as I'm aware, the formula is the same. The colour selection is really good and even though I often mix a few shades I still think they have the biggest colour selection on the high street. This is an easy medium/high coverage foundation and it's easily build-able. It lasts really well during the day but I do always set my foundation to make sure it lasts even longer. The biggest negative about this foundation is that I've recently found it to oxidise considerably! The shade W4 initally seems like a good match, but after about 10/15minutes, it oxidises darker and leave an almost pink based undertone! I recently tested this on my hand to see if it did oxidise and I noticed a huge difference - it might be because I've had mine for a long time, so perhaps I should try  a new bottle!

  1. This is exciting, it sounds to me like we pretty much have the same skin and preferences when it comes to foundation! I am so intrigued by the MUFE HD Stick foundation. I am not sure how it will work on my combo skin. I love L'Oreal True Match so it might be worth trying out a new bottle, great post! Followed you on Bloglovin' xx

    1. Aww thank you! I'm so glad you enjoyed the post and thanks for following (I followed back!) I really recommend the MUFE foundation, I took it on holiday with me and it lasted well throughout the day even in the heat! Maybe try it with a mattifying primer under the more oily parts, I find that works well for me! xxx

  2. I love the sound of that Nars foundation, I was wondering if you've tried Sheer Glow? That's the Nars foundation I keep coming back to so I always wonder which is better and how they compare!

    1. I've not tried Sheer Glow, but I definitely want to! I think it'll be a nice light-weight foundation to wear! If I try that foundation I will make sure I do a comparison post :) Thanks for reading Julia xxx
