Taming Curly Hair | Hair care routine

07:30:00

For the past few months I've been wearing my hair in its natural state. I have thick, curly and frizzy hair, which as you can imagine, is a nightmare to tame! Since I started high school, I always had my hair straight, I would straighten it every day I washed it and then quickly flatten any curly pieces every morning. I love the way my hair looks straight, but the fear of having no hair by the time I'm 30 made me think twice about my choices. So I've been trying to find ways to feel comfortable in my natural hair and here are the products I use to help that.

Firstly, I wash my hair with any shampoo, I tend to use one targeted for dry scalps but this changes regularly so I didn't include it in this post. I follow up with the John Frieda Frizz Ease Dream Curls Conditioner which I find softens my hair and stops it looking as dry and frizzy.

I then towel dry my hair and comb through it with a brush. If I was to straighten my hair I would use my favourite Heat defence styling spray by TRESemme which works so well and smells great too. If I know I'm not going in with any heated hair tools, then I will move straight onto the John Frieda Miraculous Recovery Serum and run this through the bottom two thirds of my hair. I will sometimes go through again with my brush to help spread out the product. I then divide my hair into two and braid it from the ears down. I sleep with my hair like this and let it entirely dry. The next morning I have tamed curls and the frizz is minimised significantly.

The final step is optional and just depends on how frizzy my hair is. I'll go in with the Unwind Curls Calming Creme again, by John Frieda and run this through each of the curls to help keep its bounce and ensure it doesn't get too frizzy throughout my day.

So that's how I control my hair, I'm not sponsored by John Frieda at all but I genuinely love their products and think they work so well with my hair type!

Love Always,
Neelam xx
