John Frieda + Barry M | Beauty Haul #10
07:30:00My nails have grown surprisingly long recently and they all feel relatively strong - touch wood! So I've really been trying to take extra care of them and paint them nicely, but I'm getting bored of the colours that I currently have. I always go for similar colours but I've been trying to venture out a bit more! I picked up Sprint Finish which is a reddish maroon and definitely the typical kind of shade that I go for. I mainly picked it up because it's part of the 'quick dry' range, which I love! One of my biggest pet peeves is when nail polishes take too long to dry so this is great.
Another range that I love by Barry M is the Gelly Hi Shine as you can really get away with just one coat. The best way I can describe the shade Sugar Plum is like a dark barbie pink as it's not quite pastel but very girly. I'm not sure how well I'd suit this colour but I think it'd be a nice colour for my toenails. I'd quite happily wear this all year round! Finally, I got a Superdrug limited edition shade in Twinkle Twinkle which is gorgeous!!! It's a rustic, champagne gold colour and boy was I happy about this shade! I was worried it would be like a glitter nail polish - chunky and inconsistent. But it paints on like a normal block colour and has an amazing metal like finish. I think this range is beautiful for this time of year and they have a few other shades of this finish too!
Recently I've been giving my hair a bit of a rehab session and trying to avoid using as much head. For the past 10 or so years I have pretty much been wearing my hair straight and damaging it with straighteners. My hair is now at a good length where I can let it be naturally curly and it doesn't turn into 'Hagrid-hair' but I need to control the frizz. I love John Frieda for frizz-controlled products, so I thought I'd try some more of their products. I got the Conditioner and Calming Creme from the 'unwind curls' range as I thought they'd tame my hair well. But I decided to get the shampoo from the 'miraculous recovery' range to help my damaged hair and hope to give it back some nourishment! I'm excited to see how well these both perform!
