4 Feel Good Things To Do When You're Feeling Blue..

07:00:00

Can you believe I have just recovered from being ill, AGAIN?! I feel like since I've started work, I've gotten ill so many times - perhaps that's a sign to say I should stop working! It's so frustrating and it really gets you down. But there are a few things I do to make myself feel better and I thought it would be nice to share these ideas with you!
1) Buy fancy tea/coffee and drink lots of it
Even when I'm ill in the summer, I still find a hot beverage makes me feel so much better. I love trying out new teas and hot drinks and so I always find myself raiding my cupboards for something a little different to the norm. My favourite when I'm ill is Camomile and Honey tea - it's so calming and soothing that it's perfect to help you drift off. I also like a good hot chocolate, the Galaxy Instant Hot Chocolate is amaaazing! It's so creamy and literally tastes like a melted galaxy bar! You can never go wrong with a traditional English cuppa though, hand me some biccies and I'm good to go!

2) Find a calming playlist on Spotify and chill out..
I  am obsessed with Spotify and I find that there are so many good playlists out there, my favourite one to relax to is the 'Spotify + Chill'. I listen to this whenever I just want to wind down and go to my happy place (wow, I sound old). Some songs are a bit explicit, if you're not into that then this might not be the playlist for you. I'm pretty sure this is one of those playlists that updates every now and then with new songs to add - some of my favourites on there right now include Jeremih - Planes, Right My Wrongs - Bryson Tiller and White Iversion - Post Malone.

3) Binge watch your favourite TV shows
Ok, I'll be the first to admit that I do this even when I'm not ill, but let's face it, what's better than watching a whole season of Gossip Girl in less than 24 hours?! That's right, nothing! TV shows are so much better when you watch them in one go, I haven't got the patience to wait a week to find out what happens next, and the mid season breaks are too much of a tease. When I'm ill I like to watch girly programmes, nothing too intense like Game of Thrones (which I love but boy does it require my attention).

4) Catch some shut eye
This is one of those 'well duh' pointers, but the best thing to do when you're ill is to have naps, and a lot of them. It's so easy to force yourself to stay awake and watch TV or surf the net, and although I reccommend that, I suggest you fit in some naps now and then to help you shift the bug as quick as possible! On the first day of me being ill, I tend to spend as much time as possible sleeping and sweating (ew!) it all out. It's the best thing to do when you're unwell. Just let your body relax and have time to regain energy!

If you have any tips then please share them in the comments below, I'd love to know how you make yourself feel better!

Love Always,
Neelam xx
