My Weekly Diary #7 Chopping My Hair & Quitting Retail

San Andreas
Man, I was really impressed with this film. I've seen so many films like this and I thought it would be so predictable. While some aspects were, others were not. I studied Geography at A Level and
learned a lot about natural disasters, especially plate tectonics, the cause of many earthquakes and tsunamis. It was my favourite aspect of Geography and so this film was right up my street. I loved that it was gripping throughout the movie but still built up to a big climax - I've never really watched a movie that has managed to successfully do that. The effects in the film were really good and looked super realistic. I didn't watch in 3D because I find sometimes it ruins the effect of the movie, but now I wish I had. There's a lot of good films coming out this summer, I'm so excited to watch Jurassic World which looks amazing!

Vapiano
My favourite restaurant in London! I have been here so many times and am yet to have a bad meal - I admittedly have only had 3 different meals off the menu at Vapiano (or as my friends and I call it, Vaps), and they always consist of a creamy based pasta. But I've tried a spoonful of other dishes and they taste good too! But creamy pasta is my favourite! I go to the one on Great Portland Street just off Oxford St. It's only a tube ride away but I don't go there too often, but my best friends and I love it.
This time I had the Crema di Funghi.

Last day at work
So today is officially my last day at my first ever job. How crazy is that?! I've worked at this job for almost 2 and a half years. Part of me is really sad to be leaving because I've made so many good friends and gained so much confidence from this job. Another part of me is SO relieved to be leaving retail, if you've never worked in retail before you won't realise how much work goes into it. It may look easy but you have to deal with so many problems and there's always pressure from managers above - which I guess you get anywhere. But in a job that is so heavily focused on customer service, it makes it a little bit harder. I loved that I got to interact with people and because the shop I worked in was located in Westfield, I got to talk to people from all over the world/country which was great! I'm currently in the middle of writing a post all about the things I've learnt from working in retail.

Chopping my hair
If you've seen my pictures, you will know that I always have my hair long. I have no reason for it, other than personal preference. But I decided to switch things up a bit, it was a spur of the moment thing. I just fancied a change. So I went for a long bob after seeing some pictures on pinterest. My hair now sits on my shoulder, there are times where I love and times where I wonder if I've made the right choice. My  hair is thick and naturally curly, so it has a tendency to bounce up. I reckon I need to play around with it and find what style works best for me. I'm excited to wash it and see how quick it takes to straighten. I hate having to spend so long on my hair, but I just can't handle it when it's in its natural state. I get my hair done at Vogue Ladies in Oldfield Circus - It's the only hairdresser I've ever been to but they do an amazing job every time!

What have you been up to this week? I would love to hear from you guys!

Love Neelam xx

p.s. yes I've changed the name from Weekly Edit to Weekly Diary because I see it's more fitting :)
