Beauty Haul #4

Oh Boots, your 3 for 2 offers make my bank balance want to cry - and my makeup collection so colourful! Most of these products are from Boots, with the exception of 4 from fragrance direct. Last month I got a bonus from work so I thought I'd treat myself to a few new bits. These purchases were made over the spread of a few days, so I didn't realise exactly how much I spent - oops.

I'll start off with the purchases from fragrance direct. If you haven't head of fragrance direct before then it's basically a online site that sell makeup, hair & body products and fragrances for a slightly cheaper price. They're still the same quality and most will come sealed (they let you know if there's any damaged packaging). The first thing I got was the Maybelline fit me pressed powder in the shade Caramel 350. I've got the fit me foundation in the sahde 315, but I thought if I get a powder that's slightly darker then I can use it to warm up my lighter foundations.

I thought I'd try out a new concealer too. I opted for the Loreal True Match Concealer in the shade Caramel. It's a warm toned, orangey-yellow colour. It actually works perfectly for the redness around my nose and under my bottom lip. I sometimes even use it on top of my under eye concealer too.

I then got two products from Rimmel: Wake Me Up Shimmer Touch in the shade Shimmering Sand, and the Match Perfection Blush in Medium. I haven't really heard many reviews about these products I thought I'd try them out anyway. Both look great in their packaging but haven't lived up to my standards so far.

Finally, on to my Boots purchases. Whenever there is a 3 for 2 offer I always make sure that all the products I get are similar price so that it works out cheaper per item - that's my accounting & finance degree coming to practice. So in the first purchase I got the two Seventeen stay pout lipsticks in the shade Just a fling and Rule Breaker as well as the Collection lasting perfection concealer in 4 dark. The lipsticks are so good that I will definitley have a swatch post of them up soon. This is my second purchase of the concealer because my current one is almost finishing; but you'll be able to see that in an empties post I'll be doing soon.

The second time I bought the Bourjois Delice de Poudre Bronzing powder, which I've wanted to try for ages! and I also got the Loreal True Match foundation in the shade N6. It looked like my perfect shade in the shop, but it's unfortunately a tad too light, which is a shame because I've been dying to try it! I also got the Barry M Natural Glow eyeshadow and blush palette. I remember a lot of people talking about this when it first came out so I thought I'd give it a go and all the colours are wearable so I'm likely to get good use out of it.

The Last time I purchased two of the make up be gone Johnsons wipes, basic purchase but they're so good. I also got the matte Bary M Nail polish in the shade Espresso which my first impressions of it aren't good at all, the Simple Kind To Skin Light Moisturiser, as my current moisturiser is almost finished. I've wanted to try the Rimmel Stay Matte pressed powder for ages as I've heard so many good things about it so I got it in the shade translucent. I also like the look of the Collection 2000 They Smokey Eye Palette so I got that too.

Sorry this post is so long, but I just had so many things I wanted to share with you. I definitley will be doing some reviews and swatches on a few of the products so keep an eye out for that. In all over cover stick, baked blush

Yes, another e.l.f. haul!

This months beauty haul is going to have quite a few different things; so I decided not to include these items in there. When I first started this blog I always did e.l.f. hauls and I thought, why not stick to tradition! The main reason behind this haul was that I had just hit pan on my favourite blush and I wanted to repurchase. I know that my old blush will most likely last me at least another month (I hope), but there was a 50% off everything off that I just could not resist. A few of the things I wanted to try had sold out and to be quite honest with you, I have a lot of elf products already so there wasn't much else I wanted. But for the deal to work I needed to spend £30. Considering there was also free delivery at the time I only spent a total of £15 (well just a few pennies over).

Blushes were the main drive of this haul and the most frequent product too! I decided to try two new blushes in the same studio range as my all time favourite mellow mauve blush; Candid Coral and Blushing Rose. I've never tried a corally coloured blush before so I'm not sure how that is going to turn out. I'm hoping it does show up on my skin tone, otherwise I'll have to find another use for it. Blushing Rose looks like a darker version of mellow mauve, even though the images show differently. I've probably said this before, but I absolutely adore the packaging on these blushes. They look a hell of a lot more expensive than £3.95 and are just as pigmented as any other blush. I'm thinking of doing a little swatch post for these blushes so keep your eyes peeled for that. The fourth blush I purchased is one that I haven't seen before and it's the baked blushes in the studio range. It says new on the packaging but I get the feeling its been around for a while and I just haven't really paid attention to it. I like the look of the marble effect it has. The one I purchased is in the shade Passion Pink. However, it almost looks like the Tickled Pink blush with streaks of Passion Pink, both from the blushes in the studio line. I think it works really well and despite the packaging looking quite cheap, I am happy with this purchase.

I won't dither much on the elf powder brush as I'm sure I have mentioned this before. I already have one of these and I have to admit it's my most used and most loved brush. It's just perfect for applying foundation and I really have nothing bad to say about it. I actually purchased it for my mum (little addition to her Mother's Day presents).

I then decided to try out the nail polish. I see pictures being post about them on their Facebook all the time but just never thought of trying them out. I thought if try out the natural ones because I have so many pinks and reds that I needed something different. They're a lot smaller than I hoped, sort of the same size as the MUA £1 nail polishes. The colour is really opaque although I'm not 100% about the lasting power - not sure if I used top coat so I'll have to give it another go!

I accidentally bought two of the elf eyebrow stencils - what a sausage. I liked the idea of these but I really can't see me using them. I like the shape of my brows and I'm unlikely to change it drastically. But who knows, one day they could come in handy.

Lastly, I bought a shimmery all over stick (Spotlight). I thought it could be a good cheek highlighter. But I could use it to highlight under my brow bone or even the inner corner of my eyes when I want to brighten them up. There's plenty of uses for this product.

NYX Haul

I was so thrilled when I saw nyx was selling at my workplace (next), I was after the full coverage concealer but unfortunately they didn't sell it in store. I decided to purchase it online along with a few other bits.

Firstly, I am so pleased with the delivery service! I ordered around 11 o'clock on Thursday evening and got an email from nyx saying my parcel will be delivered on Monday. Of course I wasn't expecting to receive the parcel on Friday, nor was I expecting it to arrive on the weekend as they stated clearly that they would deliver on weekdays. On Friday, I got a text from the courier service, interlink, also saying it'll arrive on Monday and if I wanted it to be delivered to a neighbour or on a different day. I live in student accommodation so there's always someone to sign off for my parcels. So on Monday morning I received a final text from interlink letting me know that the parcel wil arrive from a specific driver between a certain time slot, and they were spot on! So I got my parcels uber quick!

Finally, on to the products. The first product ,as I mentioned before, was the full coverage concealer in orange. The colour is meant to counteract any dark circles, which I constantly have. I know that mac have a similar product and even though my mum uses it, I wanted to try a cheaper option - £6. I'll do a review on this soon and see if it does the job.

The second item I wanted to try out is the make-up setting spray in matte for £8. They have the dewy version but I have combination skin so it tends to look naturally dewy. I've never really tried a setting spray before, I think I have an elf one but never really gave it a chance to work. I'm hoping this will work well in the summer when my skin is particularly oily.

After I got the essentials I thought why not spend up to £30 to get free delivery? So I got browsing and found the slim lip pencils. I've seen so many YouTubers and beauty bloggers rave about and I couldn't not try them out. I always buy two shades if I'm not sure of the colour I'd like so that I'm more likely to like at least one - weird I know. So I bought one in the shade ever and the other in Bloom. They come out so pigmented and even though I don't have a lipstick the colour of Bloom, I still love them both.

I then decided to try out the Round Lip Glosses. I'm not a lip gloss fan at all but I've seen reviews on these talking about how there not so sticky to normal lip glosses. Damn right they're not! I love them so much, they may have converted me to a lipgloss-kinda-gal. I got them in the shade Pinky Natural and Apricot.

Last, but not least, I picked out the cream blush in Natural. I only have one cream blush and that's from elf, but it's not a creamy texture at all. This however is exactly what you would expect from a cream blush. It does take a while to get used to but once you master the power of blending it out, it looks beautiful!

That is all I got from nyx this time round, however I'm so impressed with the quality and pigment of the products that I will definitely be revisiting the site to try out more products soon!
